I got mine done at Bumrungrad Hospital Sukhumvit Soi 7 several years ago and it was perfect! My friend got them done at Rutnin Eye Hospital and his eyes are not quite perfect. Not sure if it is the doctor, machines, or just bad luck. But I recommend Bumrungrad.

You get an appointment (best if you have a thai friend helping you). The doctor talks to you and explains everything. Then they examine your eyes and see if you are a good candidate. A day or so later you meet with the doctor again and he reviews everything again and measures your eyes again - then schedules you within a week. He scheduled all the Lasik for the evenings. I arrived - waited in the waiting room with about 5 other farang guys - each guy took about 20-30 mins. Then you wait in the waiting room for a while. Then go home. You go to the doctor 2 days later for a check up, then again in 2 months for another check up. You should plan 1 to 2 weeks to be there for the whole thing.

Best to have someone go with you - especially to take you home. Good luck. Cost me $1,100 for both eyes.

Bumrungrad Hospital is one of 3 hospitals in Thailand accredited by the Joint Commission International(JCI), a commission that evaluates and accredits hospitals around the world that match the standards set by the JCI. See www.jointcommissioninternational.org The Joint Commission also oversees American Hospitals and clinics. www.jointcommission.org. I found the list of foreign hospitals accredited by the Joint Commission the other day cause I found an article in the AARP

Bumrungrad Hospital is the largest and most well know in Bangkok.

The above is the link to the page about their eye clinic. You can send an inquiry about the doctors and the training and experience.

Samitivej Hospital was also on the Joint Commissions list.
