ok when ever an insurgent in Iraq is cought or killed you burry them in a pig skined coffin and you pour pig fats in there graves. also put a bug fence arounf the oil feilds and put pigs in the fences then we dont need to worry about then trying to blow up the oil lines and such.. anyywa is this a good idea>? thoes guys HATE pigs so ithink this is a great way to stop them bury them in "filth" there god wont look at them!!

Seriously - I am just kidding - I had a moment of weakness and couldn't resist a cheap shot. Plus I think it was funny.
Honestly it wouldn't work It would only serve to infuriate them more and increase their resolve to attack us. In addition it would be a perfect fit for their propaganda and recruiting techniques they use.
What would work? I have no idea honestly. I am unable to think like them. How do you fight an enemy that has nothing to lose, is not afraid to die and actually wants to die a martyr?
Unfortunately, the only idea I can think of that would work is to grant them their wish and kill them. Kill them hard and fast. And quicker than their ranks can be replenished.

First we must call them people. After all what is an "insurgent". Is it a pissed off dad who's 3 year old kid was "collateral damage" from us bombing Iraq and is out for blood? A brother, uncle, cousin of a person who was tortured or killed innocently?
Why disgrace the dead? Why slap somebody when they are dead. Islam is a beautiful religion, why dishonor those who are dead.
As a matter of fact, you could create more "insurgents" by slapping those who are dead already.
We just need to leave, try to be friends, and start trading with people.

Logically I would say yes. It seems like a very good Idea of mental warfare. Legally no we try to be less barbaric than that as a nation. Personally I think we need to threaten Mecca. I heard it worked for the French I wish I could quote a source on that sorry I can't.

Terrorists are so faithful, that even a threat of eternal damnation doesn't scare them.
There are plenty of verses in the Qu'ran that forbid violence against fellow muslims, yet these, faith filled, boys kill each other in the name of God anyway.
We need to rid the world of faith based belief in order to stop terrorism, not add to belief based threats already in existence.

Similar to what General 'Blackjack' Pershing did to muslim insurgents in the Philippines in the early part of the 20th century. It worked pretty well back then and I suspect it'll work just as well now.
