I would say "yes" but it would depend. Horrible crime can mean many things. If it's murder, rape, incest, etc....then yes, I would say you would have to report them.

As a Christian, it would be my duty to report something that was against the law. So yes, I would contact authorities and I wouldn't consider that wrong because if the person confessed, they already knew that what they did was a crime.

Not reporting it would make me as guilty as the person who commited the crime. I would be considered an accessory. That wouldn't please God.

God bless!

Yes. The right thing to do is to make sure that person gets help. If they do it this time who's to say they won't do it again. We should not judge them for what they've done, but what if the horrible crime was against you? How would you react?

Never come on yahoo or any other internet forum and ask what the right thing to do is. You need to find the answer within yourself and God. We can give you all the advise in the world but until you are fully convinced in your own mind what you should do, advise won't help. Just giving you some advise LOL.

NOW THAT IS A D>A> question!!! Of course not - especially if they killed 16 or 17 kids 5 years and younger.

We, as Christians, are not exonerated from civil responsibilities, it is your responsibility as a human being and a member of a law abiding society to do what is necessary.

You should first try to convince them to turn themselves in and pay for the crime they committed. If they refuse, then I don;t know how you could sleep at night knowing what they had done and not reporting it. Not to mention the fact that you would then be aiding and abetting them in their crime and putting your life on the line.

if it was an actual confession of faith....no.

If they truly repent of their sin, no. I would encourage them to make restitution, turn themselves in, and otherwise pay the price of their crime.

Hmm, well, it depends on how devout you are, and how serious the crime, try asking a priest. I heard in some states, if a priest tells on you, they get the same sentence as you.

would it not be part of your duty to convince them to go to authoritys. If they truly repent and call on God, maybe He could help them. Or perphaps this is one of those things that God will turn to good and this person will win all kinds of souls in prison to God

yes, because they might do it to someone else. Not if one is a priest though but just a regular person and I am assuming your talking about murder or something like that.
