When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won't burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won't get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories. Activities that burn calories include running, biking, swimming and other high intensity activities.

Try doing a pilates work out. The exercises work the core muscles as well as the lower or upper body at the same time. I do one everyday and can feel the results in my stomach. You can buy a DVD with several work outs on it, or check your cable on-demand.

Walking is good--they all take a long time though. Watch your calorie intake and keep exercising as long as it takes--nothing works overnight like they say on tv.

Any kind of exercises will burn fat for your whole body. There is no exercise that can burn fat more in the stomach than in some other place on your body.

Cardio. You can't spot reduce fat. Sit-ups will only help strengthen your abdominal muscles which will be hidden under the fat anyway.
