i stay in some apartments that are right next door to the school I go to. i signed a 12 month lease and i want to get out, because my roommate (she signed her own lease and I signed mine) she moved her boyfriend in the apartment with us, he's here all the time. She goes home on the weekend and leave her keys with him and he have his friends in here they come and wash there clothes here and they be in the kitchen cooking to. We also have a extra bedroom that nobody stays in and he let his friends come over and spend the night. I think it is totally disrespectful of her to let him stay here and let him do the things he do. i have wrote the managers 2 letters and i have talk to the general manager so i can move to another apartment and they haven't done anything. Do you think I can break my lease/

you need to read the terms of your lease. it will say in there what your rights and responsibilities are and what the penalty would be for breaking your lease.
She might be breaking the terms of her lease by letting him live there. Also, if your complaints are being ignored you might have fuel for getting out of your lease penalty free.
Goto the library and find a copy of the Tenants rights act. You have rights here.

read your lease. If the boyfriend is not paying rent, insist on that he start. Also you need to have a house meeting and set down some rules with the roommate and boyfriend. It is also possible that your roommate moving her boyfriend in is a violation of her lease. You could also talk to your landlord and see if you can get out, since the roommate has moved the boyfriend in she may be in violation of her lease.

talk to your roommate and her boyfriend.. see if he would be willing to take over your lease.. i believe this is called subletting.. and if he is, take it up with your landlord.

you could also go through your lease and see if she is violating it in any way because of her boyfriend staying there. some leases don't allow over night guests for more than a 4-7 day time.

you could try talking to your landlord and see if (s)he will let you out of it based on the circumstances.. or at least get him out of it..

and if those don't work.. put up signs all through campus.. chances are, someone is looking for housing.. and you could sublet to them.

good luck.

If you can't get out of it, start charging him rent! Also, unless he's on the lease, you have the right to ask him to leave whenever your roommate is gone.

Find a tenant rights group for help. Your school may even be able to refer you.
