what side of the body are the appendix on?

i see the appendix all the time at work - i'm a CAT scan technologist. It is in the right lower quadrant of your abdomen. If you put your hand on the top of your pelvis around your waist, it's around that level and a couple inches inward.

The appendix is located on right side of the abdomen called the right iliac fossa.
This is the commonest and standard location of the appendix.
Other rare abarrent locations may be a retrocaecal, inguinal, or a long appendix extending towards the left iliac fossa.
