Depends on what your local area charges. It is usually a flat fee per mile over the speed limit plus court costs. And then you have the cost of your insurance go up! Its worth it to pay a lawyer to get it reduced to a non-moving violation.

If you are in California and you have a fairly clean record it's worth it to go to court and ask to go to traffic court instead of paying the bond. That way, if you complete the course (which can be done in person, via Internet, etc. depending on the court you have to attend) your record will stay clear and your insurance payments won't be affected.

There should be a number on the ticket. Call it. They can tell you how much it's going to cost you. Every state/county has different violation amounts.

Hopefully pretty expensive. Speed limits are there for a reason, you could hurt or kill someone driving that fast when you're not supposed to.
