I'm curious, I guess its cause we are not perfect, and we all fall short of the glory of God, I don't smoke, but I do have many faults, God has not given me a perfected body, we are still in this world, the best we can do is try and do better, try to quit if you do, we just have to work on being better people, more Christ like.

I feel sorry for the people who started smoking when smoking was "cool" because before ya know it they were hooked and now it is soo hard to quit. There is no sin in smoking now if a person has already been hooked but there would be if someone started now with all the information out on it and to do it anyway would be against the Shalt not kill commandment.

They are free to smoke if they wish. If they choose to take up that habit despite knowing all of the dangers (and it is a deliberate choice on their part), that's their own business. However, I personally can't stand smoking, and can only hope that they'll have enough courtesy not to do it around me. As for the theological aspect, no, I don't think that their smoking makes them non-Christians or anything. I have vices, too, and wouldn't want to start judging others in a religious sense just because their bad habits happen to differ from my own.

It all depends on how a person views it. I know some churches that don't have a problem with a church member that smokes because they know the struggles that the smoker is going through and leaves it between the smoker and God to decide. Anotherwords, there's only one true judge so let him do the judging.

The Bible says that we are God's handiwork, His creation and that our bodies are a temple for the Holy Spirit.

Therefore we should take care of our bodies to the best of our ability.

I don't judge those Christians who smoke. But I do pray for them to quit smoking so that they can be more healthy.

Same thing with drinking alcohol. We need to pray for those who struggle with these vices. We all have vices and need to help each other out. Not by scolding them, or judging them, but by praying for each other.

The same as my point of view for non-Christians who smoke: you gotta be a jerk to do it .... it costs money, makes you smell, yellows your teeth, ruins your lungs and health, I can't see of any good reason to do so. I don't say this to be mean, but hopefully for the best interests of those who do.

Pray for them:

A bruised reed He will not break,
And smoking flax He will not quench,
Till He sends forth justice to victory;

Why just Christians? It's an addictive unhealthy dangerous habit that anyone can take up. Let's hope they don't, it's too hard to quit.

Smoking is not a sin. It is unhealthy, but lots of things are, that doesn't necessarily make them sins. Read the Bible for information.
