I recently bought a puppy and have the need for a rug shampooer, what my question is, I found a model around $70.00 in a local department store, and I really need to know is it worth the money, do they really work??

I just purchased a Hoover Dual V and I love it, easy to operate and dry time on the carpet is fast...seventy dollars sound pretty cheap for a carpet shampooer and you usually get what you pay for.

Some of them do work well, however, in that price range most likely it will deposit hidden dirt into the carpet that you will not see until after it dries.

Best is to either save for a higher end model, or keep renting for a while...

What you need is a spot shampoo unit and some training for your pet. I am not aware of a home unit that is even close to those you can rent.

do not bet you're money on it. my mother bought one from a department store for a bout $75.00 and it messed up before we could even finish the job. Then on top of that they wouldn't even refund it.

They work somewhat, but don't have the suction like the ones you rent.

You didn't say what brand. But I guess you'll find out how well it works when you use it, huh?
