The "new" Vue has the Honda beat hands down. Easily beating the 166-hp, four-cylinder Honda CR-V EX. But the Vue XR beats both rivals in standard safety equipment and amenities and matches or beats them (the Vue XR vs. the CR-V EX, for example) in performance and handling.

Out of the two, the CRV. But for dirt road, neither is good. Perhaps look at Toyota FJ Cruiser or a 4 Runner. Good luck :)

the honda crv its very nice and it has more room than the saturn vuem, and the gas mileage is excellent you can get almost 30mpg with a honda crv and they have the best resale value over 3 years.

CR-V and VUE can't handle a dirt road. instead, try a Subaru Forester with AWD Standard:

Good Luck

I know two people who have bought the saturn vue, and both traded it in before one year of driving it. niether liked the car for some reason. One opted for a subaru and the other got a buick, which I'm sure isn't great on gas.

I own a CRV--its great, never had a problem with a Honda unless you get an old one with lots of miles on it.

I've had a Saturn Vue V6 for two years and I ABSOLUTELY love it. I wouldn't buy another SUV unless it was an Acura MDX.
