A common practice to name with a two syllable title, such as blacky or sooty to get better recall whilst off the lead.
As to choosing what type of homonym, make sure it does not sound like a command. Remember you are likely to say the name 35000, so pick something you love sounding. Possibly invokes a sweetness and affection for her. Avoid any names that are close to family member's Christian names.

Wow... a black west terrier? I'd love to see a picture.
I usually sit down with my pups and just chill... ask them what their name is and then wait.... usually the right name just pops into my head. Whether they "told" me the name or whether it just allows me the time to stop stressing and feel who an what the pup really is, I don't know. I just know it works for me.
