The Media. Such as Bush coming out saying Islam is the religion of Peace. But, you will never ever hear a Muslims leader coming out saying Christianity is religion of peace, but they will through the past such as the crusade in your face every time they can. Muslims and non Muslims are attacking the Bible, and some Christians are attacking the Bible as well. It must be peer pressure when it comes to them.
When people mention terrorism in Islam, they continue by saying.. but not all Muslims are terrorist. Yet, when the same people mention the Catholic priest who violate some boys. They don't say it is just some. They accuse all of them.
I came across a question by a Muslim about their right to celebrate their holiday in the US. The answers were for their right to celebrate. Yet, when a Christian asked how Christmas is being hijacked! They turned on him, and adding they don't care of it, along with many unreasonable answers. Freedom is becoming for the select.
It is not fair to generalize anyone, but it is seem to be fair game these days to attack all Christians, Catholic or whatever.
Edit:
Thank You.
I believe the reason is not that they fear Christianity, but they know if they attack the Bible or Jesus Christ, Christians are not going to burn building, riot, and kill people over pictures of example. Few years ago, some one painted a picture of Jesus Christ with someone violating the cross. When the Christian objected. The painter explained it as an arist freedom of expression.
How about the book Devinci code. Do you think Non Christians or Muslims will react the same way if someone wrote a book about Muhammad, or the Quran. no. It will not be a block bluster movie, but riots and fatwas all around. when some people draw pictures of Muhammad, the world went crazy, and laws were written not disrespect other religions. It is the media and fear, that is why.

Actually, you have got to difference your wording simply relatively: Hebrew Bible Roman Catholic Bible Protestant Bible The Jewish students completed the version of the Hebrew Bible in approximately the 3rd century. That textual content is incorporated in each the RC and Prot. Bible. The order of the books is unique, considering of underlying assumptions. The Christian Bible (the New Testament) wasn't particularly nailed down till close to the 10th century or so. After that, it used to be locked in. This used to be performed in a sequence of Church Councils. This textual content is the identical in each the RC and Prot. Bible, and the Old Testament is mainly the identical in both of those Bibles, besides that the order is also just a little unique. The most effective change among the RC and Prot. Bibles is the presence of the Apocrypha -- a couple of books that had been unknown in Hebrew, however had been incorporated generally in Greek language translations of the Old Testament that had been in preferred use across the time of the early Church. That Greek translation of the Old Testament (referred to as the Septuagint) used to be so preferred (so much Jews didn't at the moment recall easy methods to talk or learn Hebrew anymore) that at any time when you uncover the Old Testament quoted within the New Testament, it's consistently the Septuagint textual content they're quoting.

That is a good question and deserves better answers then you are getting so far. I would say that we in general do not know enough about the Koran, and are really not interested in knowing that much about it. I do learn some, and find that Christianity has a Savior, and I accept that Jesus came for my Personal Salvation and Redemption. The Children of Hagar are also covered in the Bible and that gives me some understanding. They are also God's children , however they still need to learn about the Savior. All this happens because there is not enough understanding of the Bible, and facing the Koran which most of us know even less about.

U r right no one has the right to insult or pass any derogatory remarks about any holy book or religion, as i have seen that Christians when cornered or caught in question regarding Christianity or Jesus(peace be upon him) he just starts abusing prophet of Islam or stars using obnoxious words about god as well as Islam
I think we as humans should have respect for each other and practiced tolerance

A lot of people on this board have never read nor really looked at the Koran, so there just won't be as much play on the actually scripture questions.

In my opinion, more people have read the bible than the Quran. Why would you put a thumbs down on something you know nothing about?

You probably aren't going to like my answer, and I am probably going to get a lot of thumbs down, but it's an honest answer to an honest question.
In the US, Christianity in its many forms is viewed as a homogenous power. Those of us who do not buy into it often feel persecuted by it. Not that that is necessarily always the case, but the feeling is there. For example, the push to put prayer in school is not something being pushed by American Jews or Muslims. So it's not generic prayer that the advocates want, but CHRISTIAN prayer alone. So those of us prefering secularism in government are fighting Christians. Then there is all of the issues with blue laws etc.
Now, if we secularists lived in a country ending in STAN, we'd be arguing with Muslims to the extent that the law would allow it, so in that sense we are lucky. But we live in America where we want people to be accepting of other religions, and many of us don't feel that Christians in this country are accepting, so we lash out.
I can't say that I've never been guilty of it myself, but I try to do better.
I recently asked a question directed at free-thinkers. Why would Christians come on and berate my question? But they did, and when it went to voting, the community chose one of the Christian trolls who didn't even answer the question. No Muslims trolled the question. No Jews, no wiccans, no Hindus. But several Christian's did. From that I could have taken the lesson to lash out at Christian questions like this one, but didn't. I can, however, see where others might.
I hope this helps answer your question.
ADDING: Oh, look; 4 thumbs down. Big shock there.
And Molly, that's not true at all. Nobody's right to pray was taken away when the USSC decided that school prayer violated the first amendment. Anyone who wants to is still free to pray before a test, or at the beginning of their day, or over their lunch, or whenever, so long as they don't expect others to join in or be shunned.
What was taken away was the right of ANY religion to impose prayer on non-members of that faith. As it happens though, in America, the only group trying to make that imposition was and is Christianity.
No American school asks students to kneal on prayer rugs and face Meca. No American school asks students to chant Nam myoho Renge Kyo. No American school passes out prayer beads or prays to the goddess or Ganesh or covers mirrors. At least not the non-private ones. The only organized prayer I have ever known in any American school is a recitation of the Lord's prayer - which ironically appears in the New Testament just after a warning not to pray aloud in public as the heathens do.
And I'm sorry, but as an atheist, I resent the imposition.

I guess they do not want to get their heads chopped off if they say anything about the Quran.
God is more merciful and winks at ignorance sometimes. That is what the Bible says.
Wait until they meet God face to face on judgment day.
Depart from me I never knew you.
