That depends on who the giver is, why they're giving love, and what kind of love is involved.

There are four types of love and the Greeks had four words to show the differences. We only have one and it's almost always limited to the basest form of love - sexual. The highest form of love is based on principle - seeking the other's good for no selfish reason. That's the greatest love to give and to receive.

The greatest giver of love is God, proving his love by providing the means whereby those who have offended him by their sin can be forgiven freely. To receive that is sublime. Once the gift is received, then we can begin to explore the depth of love and show it more and more ourselves. That's not a religious concept. It's a reality concept because principled love could never exist without being created by the highest principle in the universe. Evolutionary principles could never 'allow' principled, unselfish love.

Love, does not come easy. One can not truely love someone, unless one has done the hard work involved in understanding them. Their are a lot of people who feel the feeling of love in an abusive relationship, So one can feel love inappropriately. So one needs to go beyond the feeling, and develop an understanding of the value of someone, and use real love, to try to work with them, to bring out the best in both you and them.

To give Love yes, Jesus said the greatest commandment was Matt.22: 37, Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. Gods Love is unconditonal. That is perfection, Jesus came that we might reach perfection someday, as humans we are all sinners, the Bible says all are sinners, Romans 3:10, As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
In order to start on our journey we must first be Born Again as Jesus said in John 3:3. To be born again we must be willing to admit our sins to Jesus and confess that we need a Saviour. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, Romans 10:13, If you would like to be saved today you can, Jesus said today is the day of Salvation, come as you are, he will help you to become the person he wants you to be. Being different than most people is a big step, just pray this Prayer if you are ready to make that change and become a child of Jesus, just pray, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!
