Bottom line is you still quit your job when you didn't have another. Seems like it would have made much more sense to wait until after the interview. Then you wouldn't have to worry about your new employer asking about how your last job ended. You say that the last 2 weeks would have been hell, and thus apparently worse then what you are experiencing right now. I can only guess that you were wanting to quit anyway and simply are using this upcoming interview as an excuse. All you can do is try to explain what you mentioned here, you apparently have seen a very negative reaction to employees that have provided a 2 week notice. But, understand that you have now created a negative situation on your work history where it didn't exist before. Potential employers always remember things that don't fit the mold. While this isn't the worse thing you could have on your resume, you will be competing with people that have much better reasons for being available for work than they just up and decided to quit.

First of all, why didn't you give proper notice? You need to learn that actions have consequences. And lieing by saying you were taking care of a sick relative...(and to everyone who said she should lie)...grow up. It's the real world out there. I would answer the question honestly and try to right a wrong. Otherwise, it'll just continue downhill.

Yes... Honesty is the best policy. Atlease you being honest. Soon or lately he may find out you are lying that would put you in bad position of trust worthy. You might want to talk to your current boss and tell the situation.

Unless he asks no. But always be honest if he asks a question, that will be best for you in the long run. You can always explain in a few short words why you didn't give the notice; If you have to answer that question.

well, don't tell them you didn't give the proper notice. Unless he asks. Whatever you do, don't bad mouth your previous employer, just tell them it was time for a change and all that. Stay cool calm and collected and don't mention anything bad. If you come off cool about it, they are less likely to try to get bad information on you.

You never quit without giving your employer notice. Now I hope you didn't list them as previous employer either because that would be two big mistakes on your part.

Tell them don't you relocated to another state to take care of a sick family member.
