Most bottled water is the ame. If your water source is from an underground well you are better of wit bottled water because some wells have sediments that can make you very sick and possibly kill you. ie: Erin Brokovich!!!! If you live in a city your tap is fine.

I can't believe all the ignorant answers on here. I wish people that didn't know what they were talking about would shut the hell up.
Purified Drinking Water like Dasani or Aquafina come from municipal tap water sources, however they go through additional multi-stage reverse osmosis filtration procedures. Dasani adds some minerals for taste
The bottled water that is labeled as "distilled water" comes from purified or tap water that is re-condensed from steam. This is one of the purest waters a person can drink and tastes it too. When water is distilled, all or most of the minerals, dissolved solids and bacteria are killed and left behind. It tastes distinctly flat at room temperature or when it is warm, but tastes incredibly delicious when chilled.
I am not sure of the bottled water that says "spring water" It tastes distinctly different from the bottled water that says "purified drinking water". They come from running springs, but I don't know how the water is processed.
I don't care what anyone says, one whiff and a taste of the stuff that comes out of my sink from the tap water we get here on the west coast (U.S.A), and you'll know why purified water that is sold in bottles at stores is such a big business out here

It's the same thing. However, the tap water has government regulations ensuring it's quality. Bottled water does not!
Watch the video, it explains all.

Some companies lie about their bottled water coming from a natural spring. I use a Brita pitcher to filter my tap water.

the only diff that i can think of is that tap water has cetain bacterias in it that bottled water doesn't....(not sure why, i seen it on the News)...all i know is that if you want to keep bottles of water for like an emergancy, you are supposed to buy bottled water b/c it won't have that bacteria in it that your tap water does.

Actually, most bottled water does not include flouride that your teeth need to stay strong. So that is a downfall to bottled water. I think the highest selling point for bottled water is the convienence.
