Nowadays, nothing. You can get a Mac, which now have the Intel Processors, and install Windows along with Mac OS X. So you can have a Mac computer with both Windows OS and Mac OS. At work, we currently have 25 or so MacBook laptops running Mac OS 10.4 with Parallels running Windows XP Professional. You could also use BootCamp to run Windows and Mac together.

The only benefit to a PC, its cheaper to purchase than a Mac. But Mac's are worth the higher price in my opinion.

Well Macs are meant to be more fun but i use window sand i say windows is definetely a much easier OS coz like it has start and etc... But the thing is a mac is a really big switch from PC to Mac so if you have had a PC and did IT and school using one of these i would reccomend using the one you are more familair with!

You could acquire an awesome collection of Windows specific malware!!!

Seriously, if you're asking:

What is the best operating system? They are all different, offer different pros and cons, and fill different needs for different people.

For example, Gamers have different needs than Podcasters, etc. I personally believe that the best operating system is the one that you LIKE to use and that meets ALL your needs. That is the bottom line.

Compare prices, I believe you will find that the Mac PRICE will be very close for similar hardware.

Finally, go to an Apple Store and take one for a test drive, ask LOTS of questions and then, decide for yourself.

"Business" software (due to habit or "addiction") has been developed for PCs, so until more and more folks switch to Macs you may find that a Mac has a smaller range of "commercial" software available. It also has a smaller community of users, so you may find it harder to find folks to share your problems, your grief, and give you sympathy and advice. More companies make PCs. Only one company makes Macs. Macs are more expensive than SOME PCs.

You pays yer money, you takes yer chances.
