I need to raise my floral centerpieces off the table about 2 or 3 inches. Does anyone know of an inexpensive pedastal type block that will help me do this? It needs to be clear or glass, so it doesn't take away from the flowers. I need help! I'm stumped!

Is this for a wedding or just home? Just wondering how many you were looking for. Honestly it might sound cheesy but just go to the dollar store. If you look hard enough you can find some things that you can work with. Just go in the craft section and get creative. I pick up a lot of odds and ends from there when it comes to decorating my house and nobody ever knows. In fact I get lots of complements and it will save you lots of money especially if this is your own wedding. Or if you know someone who is good with wood work have them cut out a square, round or whatever shape you wish 2-3 inch block of wood. You can paint them according to the wedding colors (a matte paint would probably work best) or you can sponge pain it. Then on the top of the wood use a craft glue to glue a mirror on the very top. Then place the centerpiece on top of the mirror. It will raise the centerpiece but the mirror will help to not take away from the flowers. It might sound weird but it will look elegant. You might want to just try it with one of them. I saw it at my cousins wedding. good luck!

this is what I do - get some books that you have at home and get a piece of material the coordinates with your decor or simply use an extra napkin from your table and lay over the books - then put your arrangement on top Remember though if you are eating at the table not to have your arrangement too tall where you guests can't talk to each other.

What about the glass blocks they use for shower walls. They have them in the height you need I believe. I found them at the Home Depot website. They were 8x8x3"

Take a look in the glassware departments of your local stores - small cake stands, compote bowls, etc.

Upside down, clear glass soup plates. [ check second hand stores ].
Then you can re-cycle them for the bride!
