Homeless guy would probably use it for booze...unless I gave him another 4 or five cents (which you said I don't have), he can't even buy a burger on the value menu with $1. My church will combine it with other dollars and feed dozens of homeless people at the local shelter...I'd give it to the church.
Fortunately I've never been down to my last dollar so I can give to both of them!

At least if I give a dollar to the homeless guy, he gets a little tax free money too.

The homeless guy. A lot of churches collect and collect money from people without even teaching them how to achieve religion or that personal relationship with God.

Homeless person, the church has it easy they aren't taxed and they get enough money from fleecing I mean getting donations from their church goers. I could use the dollar to buy something for the homeless person or just let the man have the dollar for him to do as he wished with it.

Take up the offering and give it to the homeless~my one dollar will be much more when put together with everyone else's money

If I'm handing over cash, it'll go to the church. If I can use that dollar to buy something to help the homeless guy, then I'll buy it for him.
