it's good for at least getting to know new people. as a single mom, who never left the house except for work, my choices were quite limited. but i met a wonderful man on yahoo personals. don't get me wrong, i met a lot of men, and it took awhile, but i did find one right for me. we've been together for quite some time, he even got a job in my town to be near me and now we live together. so it can happen, just don't expect miracles and you should be okay.

My best friend met her husband in a chat room.

My brother also met his wife the same way.

It can be done. I used a phone dating service when I was younger and met some nice people through there but never found the love of my life.

I found the love of my life at a bar (another place mom says you will never meet a nice guy).

You will find someone when you stop looking. It always seems like when you are searching and hoping is when he never appears. When you decide to just let things happen is when he finds you.

Katie I met my wife on a site called Findsomeone.com. I felt like the biggest loser going to this means to find a female friend but one I did find indeed. There are plenty of dangers and users on line though so you should be careful with the amount of info you share on line. And please don't ever believe that you are starting to get feelings for anyone prior to meeting them face to face and learning more about them and their likes and dislikes. Anyone can be anybody they want to be on-line and as such lots of guys who profess to being 6 foot 4 with blond hair and blue eyes are actually 5 foot 5, bald and unemployed. Just as there are many females who claim to be red heads 5' 5" with a figure to rival the Gods. Well perhaps in her dreams this is how she sees herself but reality says different. My wife didn't even give me her proper name until we had chatted for almost 3 months on-line and finally she agreed to give me her phone number and eventually we met person to person. Best of luck but once again please be careful and trust your gut instinct also.

My brother in law and his wife met on the Internet. Don't close yourself off to experiences or opportunities. Good luck.

I met my wife on-line. We chatted for 4 years before finally getting together. We have been married for 1 1/2 years.

i haven't tried the dating sites...but i ended up chatting to a guy through yahoo messenger...he ended up saying he loves me and that got me into so much confusion, because he literally lives on the other side of the world (i stopped contacting him afterwards). anyway i generally think using the internet is quite unsafe, because you can never really know if they're telling the truth about anything, until you meet them...

I found my partner on blackplanet 4 years ago. Now we live together and are planning to get married. Its definitely been a struggle just like any other relationship, but I'm glad we met.

its just a way to meet people.. you only find love after you meet them and learn what they are like. so its as good a way as any to meet people.
