Yes Yahweh submits to His Laws.

Do you think that there is lawlessness in His Kingdom just like the confusion that you see here on earth.

Yahweh is a Law keeper, not a Law breaker, and until the world learns this, then you will never truly be converted to Yahweh's likeness (perfect character).

Psa 19:7 The laws of Yahweh are perfect, converting the whole person: the testimony of Yahweh is sure, making the simple wise........

God is not bound by Law, but He will not go against His own nature. John states plainly "God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness whatsoever" (I John 1:5)
We are also told in Scripture that it is impossible for God to lie. Thus it is also impossible that He should deal unjustly. That is the sobering part of the doctrine of eternal damnation - that it is exactly what men deserve. Nevertheless before God ever created anything He foresaw every possible contingency and the ramifications of sin and violated Law and resolved in His eternal counsel to bear the consummate guilt of fallen Man upon Himself. It was not the Father who sacrificed His Son, but Jesus Christ as High Priest according to the order of Melchisedek offered Himself to God as an atonement for sins, according to the will of God.
Christ was baptized to "to fulfill all righteousness."
Personally I take this as nothing more than Jesus Christ validating the ministry of John the Baptist as a Jew under the Old Covenant submitting to the God's Prophet.

GOD granted us freewill. This was so important to Him, a war was waged in the preexisting world before this world was created. We fought on GOD's side, won, and kept our first estate. We are granted bodies as a test to see if we keep our second estate, & to what degree we are granted a third estate. But I degress. In answer to your question. GOD has freewill, also. We are children in His image, alike in many ways. However, I personally believe that He has put forth such a foundation of obeying His own Law, it would be a great effort for Him to break it. Yes He possibly could, but no way will He ever do such a silly thing.

You are on point in ..."why did God sacrifice His Son?"...it was a just act of mercy to create a legal loop-hole in the Law.
Christ is baptized in obediance to GOD's law. Did Jesus *have* to? No.

God sacrificed his son, according to the story, because human beings were so evil that no other sacrifice could save them.

And Christ was baptized, again according to the story, in order to fulfill prophesy.

And according to general Christian dogma God is bound by the promises made to his (her, their, its) people.

God is bound only by His promises. In other words the only things He must do are the things He says He must. If He were bound by his own "laws" that would put Him below the law and there fore not the "Most High God" for then even God would have to serve the law. So the short answer is no. I do not believe God is bound by His own laws.

He is not bound. He chooses to follow them. God, just like all of us, has agency. Any D&C 82:10 scripture that suggests otherwise was written not by God, but by man.

Our actions in no way force God or Christ to do anything. If we, imperfect as we are, still have the freedom to choose, then God and Christ do as well, and regardless of whether or not we "do what [they] say", they are not bound. Do they break their promises? No. COULD they? Absolutely.

There is an incredibly interesting talk by Cleon Skousen that addresses a similar topic. Here's a link.

It's been years since I've read it. I just googled it, and I plan to read it again this week. It's pretty deep stuff.

But I agree with the penguin, He has a choice, He just always makes the right choice.

God himself declared that he is bound by his law [I, the Lord, am abound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise. D&C 82:10]
For Him to do otherwise would mean he would no longer be a god of righteousness, but a god of chaos.
