Ok, so I'm planning a 13th Birthday party for my little sister. She's wanting a BIG one! lol. And she isn't telling me what she wants the theme to be or whatever. What kind of questions should I ask her? What kind of theme and ideas should I bring to her?

it depends on what type of kid she is,

a good idea is go to here in a teaseing tune tell her what u are going to do and she what responce she gives off, that why u get a fast idea what she wants and she might tell u what she likes.

She's a little old for a theme party since she is turning into a teen. Music, snacks, pizza, soda etc. and invite all her close friends. Make it on a Sat night so that the boys and girls can pair off and dance etc. Casual clothes are more fun than dressy stuff. If you really want to do something fun you can always do a scavenger hunt in the neighborhood. Break the group up into teams of 6 and set a time limit. Winning team all get fast food gift cards.

Pick her favorite movie, and set that as the theme. Just make sure you're up to date on her favorites, so you don't have a My Little Pony party because she liked that three years ago LOL.

Or you could do a karaoke party, borrow a machine from someone and get cds for it.

It's hard to tell you what to do since you didn't include any details at all about her... is she a cheerleader, into riding, kind of emo.....???

if you're doing it for a surprise, talk to friends about ideas they may have. a dance party is usually a lot of fun for girls turning 13. hire a dj, she could invite all her friends, and you can rent out a place or just use your yard or a room in your house if it's big enough. you don't really need a theme, but if you really want to do one, what does she like? i think a winter wonderland would be a lot of fun to do, or even decorate for fall inside if it's coming soon. i know a lot of people who have dress code type things for party, like for a fall one, wear all orange, and she wears red, but those aren't really important, unless she wants it. if it's a surprise, get her best friend to make the invitations out to all her friends.

if she doesn't want to do that, you could always do something like taking a lot of people to the movies or out to eat or something. you could also just do a huge sleepover or something like that, but i think she would like the dj a lot more!

Make it an upside down or backwards party. Have everyone where there clothes backwards, hang balloons from the floor. Say, Crappy birthday! Upside down cake. Pin the donkey on the tail. Hang a bat a smash a pinata with it. Sing happy birthday backwards. We did this for my daughter and it was a lot of fun.

No themes. Just make it fun and hip. Good music. Maybe just some pizza. Board Games that are cool. Good movies. She is 13. Nothing is cool to her right now.

Figure what your budget is. They like movies at that age. Take them to the movies or rent some, pizza, soda, junk food,
Pajama party for her and a few friends. Skating party, with pizza after.

Go for a fancy dress as they're always cool and act as a really good ice breaker try film stars or something similar. Also everyone loves bouncy castles no matter how old they are. as well as twister jelly ice cream. and possibly some alcohol though they are only 13 so not too strong :p unless you want a mess to clean up. You may even be able to get a local band to play.
