if you want to have the rough meaning of the contents an online translator might be helpful. Unfortunately they often do not translate "not so common" words or if they do not translate them correctly (using wrong meaning if there is more than one for a word, they also have problems with colloquial language.
If you need it for a letter, a website or whatsoever either get a professional translation or find someone who has good knowledge of German

If you want to translate a page into another language, I find Google to be the best tool. To do this use the language tools under the section headed "translate this page." It will not catch every word, but it gets you the basics.
