you're misinterpreting the passage right here. even in the journey that your interpretation have been the excellent option, Christians would nonetheless not be required to maintain that regulation until they underwent circumcision, and Gentile Christians have been never required to take action. Now, are there regulations codified interior the prophets? No. are you able to break or fulfill something interior the prophets that isn't interior the prophets? No. If Jesus got here to "fulfill" the "regulation and prophets" then what precisely did He do to end this? "The regulation on the time become the regulation of the previous testomony." No, the regulation in this context are the 1st 5 books of the previous testomony writings, and would additionally confer with the best purchase of the previous testomony writings. "practice me a verse interior the Bible which says that that's okay to brush aside the regulations of the previous testomony?" A loaded question. The previous testomony is likewise the previous covenant, and Gentile Christians never became a criminal occasion to that covenant. additionally, that covenant ended; being replaced via the recent covenant. Is the recent covenant not stable sufficient for you? .

If you read in the NT that Jesus began a new covenant but you'd never checked out the OT, you would want to know what the old covenant was that had been replaced, and why. So you'd have to study the OT.

Depending on how you respond to the civil Christian answers you are getting to this first Q, I'll either look out for your next 399, with a view to answering, or ignore every Q you ask hereafter. It's not flack from evangelists you need to be worried about, by the way.

The OT is the history. It shows you how things started and came about. There are lots of good stories in the OT to read today that shows complete faith in God like JOB. There are stories to teach consequences and morals also. I think it also teaches us the basic laws. You have read the ten commandments right? Jesus came to save us and teach us alot, but many of the old ways he still held true. He came to clarify what the world was doing wrong to help lead us in the right direction.
example of keeping up with the past:
Just because you are learning geometry doesn't mean you wont need what you learned in pre-algebra later in life when you get to Algebra I.

Jesus did not erase all the old laws, only a few, one being the sacrificial lamb, he was the "lamb" for us all, his blood was shed for us. some of the "Sabbath laws", not all, the ten commandments have not been erased, nor has the health laws, or marriage laws.
or is it you believe we re living in a time in which you can do any thing you want, like, murder, rape, thievery, and still get in to heaven? if so, good luck to you :)

Because they need something to point to when they are forced into a corner and asked to defend why they are bigots and homophobes.

Look at janntoo1's response - apparently, they are supposed to be following those laws still. This would explain why Christians condemn homosexuals openly in Church, and then go to lunch at Red Lobster afterwards. Cuz eating shellfish is an abomination. Go figure.

Those Christians who delve back into the old covenant do so out of ignorance.

You and I apparently did the same thing.

I agree but how else would preachers get you to hand over 10% of your earnings plus give offerings on top of this.

it seems some people have a need to be against something-this has helped politicians get elected for years-also helps keep preachers fed---just my opinion--smile and enjoy the day

The old laws were for the Jewish folks. Jesus did NOTchange the old laws. He came to fulfill it. He still says to follow the old commandments. But his (Jesus) covenant is with us, the gentile.. He came to save us..
