dbu - Mormons believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. We just don't believe that they are all one and the same being. We think that God the Father is a separate individual from the Son and the Holy Ghost. The whole concept of the Trinity wasn't even created until some 300 AD at the Council of Nice. There isn't any mention ever of the Trinity in the Bible, Old or New Testament. When we pray to God, we pray to Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. Whether you think that is the same God or not, I can't decide for you. But I believe in Jesus Christ of Galilee, son of Mary, Savior of all mankind. Is that the same God as you? edit - Morning star has a lot of incorrect information in her post and does not accurately state what we, as LDS, believe.

Topanga closed? I thought it was Malibu canyon.

I wouldn't feel too guilty about it. This stuff happens every year, and every 10 years it's severe. When I lived in Santa Monica we'd get regular ash deposits from the canyons burning. Repeat after me: It's not my fault, it's not my fault, it's not my fault. Now click your ruby slippers together 3 times and go back the the Valley, dude. Can't you sneak up Tuna Canyon instead?

you not only started the fire, you're responsible for the santa ana's, the lack of rain, planting the scrub, making the hills and valleys, building the houses, and the astronomical housing prices in these "desirable" areas.

ive lived in los angeles all my life. is it weird that these fires dont bother me? i think most native angelinos arent too concerned with whos "fault" it is.

its just part of the trade off.
we get awesome weather....beaches/desert/mountains all in close proximity.....and so much more.
the trade off? earthquakes, floods, and fires.
*shrugs*

its no one's fault.
we all know what to expect living here.
