Hi! Thanks for the info.! Very interesting! Yes, I too have realized that all "Protestants" do not look or act the same!
I am sure there are many other not well-known sister-or-brotherhoods that are quietly and joyfully serving God as their consciences dictate.
here is a link to look at:

Yes there are Anglican Nuns who are, as you say, very similar to Roman Catholic Nuns. As someone else said there are also religious from other faiths.
I think the accuracy of the answers here is sometimes suspect and very much dependant on hitting YA at 'the right time'. I have posted questions before and got entirely unsatisfactory answers and another time I appear to find all the world's experts!
As to my thoughts: vive la difference and lets look at the similarities of all our faiths and not the differences that divide!
God Bless!

Sasi, you get a star for your honesty! How refreshing to see someone admit they got it wrong! I've got things wrong, too, and have had to apologise. Once I rashly claimed that Jehovah's Witnesses never admitted to making mistakes. I was soon put right! I also used to claim that Jehovah's Witnesses were a sect, but I have since realised that is not actually true, and have had to change my position. It's always good to keep an open mind and to admit to mistakes.
Interesting to see from the other answers that Protestants have their own version of nuns. I never knew that, either. However people feel moved to serve God, it is between them and God, and we should never underestimate how the Holy Spirit works in the lives of other people.
PS - Is it possible to have a Best Answer taken away? Maybe you should contact the asker, or Yahoo! LOL!

It's possible to correct your answer when a question is still open, but I don't know if you can once it's closed. You can try clicking on edit and see if it will let you.
BTW, there are also several orders of Anglican nuns as well. Try Rumer Godden's In This House of Brede. And there are Buddhist nuns, too. And there's a religion called the Holy Order of MANS that has orders.

I know a lot of protestant woman who have dedicated their lives to the Lords service.Missionaries, workers in food banks, homeless shelters, orphanages, nursing homes and hospitals, etc. Some of them even take their husbands along if they got one to take.My wife is one such woman, she is totally given to God.She doesn't dress like a nun but dresses appropriately according to the standard that most Christians follow.
I've done worse than making an error in my question.Awhile back I had answered a question and wanted to add something to it later.I opened up the wrong question and added to the answer without noticing it.Most everyone here is very forgiving though.

The Episcopal Church also has nuns. There's an Episcopal convent in Greenwich, NY called St. Mary's. They make awsome cheesecakes.

There are many women out there who have no time for letting relationships get in the way of God's work in their lives, but remain open to the possibility of meeting a husband.
They soldier on by themselves until such time as they meet a partner in life. They hopefully lead a celibate life but without taking an oath of cel. for the rest of their lives...sounds healthier to me.
So in this sense there are many non denominational folk out there who live like nuns but without the bondage of religiosity.

Nope not me, I am perfect dontyaknow?
I didn't know that there were Protestant Nuns either.
I once posted a question regarding the NWT and was under the false assumption that they could not call it a bible, because of it's inaccuracies, boy did I quickly get slapped down for that bit of witness ignorance...LOL

I know there are nuns in denominations other than Catholic but as far as correcting your answer, at this point the only thing you could do is add a comment to the Best Answer.

Ooh... plz, there is no justice in the crucifixion of the prophet Jesus peace be upon him, we are all responsible of our own sins, don’t expect an other human being to care theme, because that relieves us from the responsibility we should bear our selves and gives us a green light for sins.
plz wake up and listen:
