I have a 2 year old daughter. She was born in my hometown Chicago IL, Her mother is originally from California. Her mother and I split and she went back to Cali with my daughter and put child support on me. I havent seen my daughter in almost a year. Her mother is holding a grudge because of the break up. As Part of child support I have to put her on my insurance plan. I tried to get IL HMO but it wont cover her in california. So they are forcing me to get Blue cross insurance for more money. Is there a legal or less expensive way to put her on my insurance.

(Insurance for all childreen in iL is manditory. They are trying to get as many people off the government assisted insurance in IL. by making fathers put the childreen on there insurance plan. But my child is not even in IL)

I am totally for the other parent to pay child support but I also feel that the other parent should not be drove to the poor house in trying to do so. I am not sure about the laws where you live but I do know them where I live and if you are offered insurance then you need to asdd her but if the insurance that you are offered will not cover her in a different state then that is what the child support the mother gets should be used for. You should not have to go out and find a new insurance company just for your child. That is my opinion but you may want to contact your laywer and ask him about it. Is blue cross even offered through your employer?

I am divorced with a 2 year old and we both reside in FL but I'm from VA and thinking of going back. I don't know the law there but here we HAVE to provide the court the information as to where we're going and get their permission to leave the state. It's just to give them our physical address as well so they can provide the non-custodial parent of their whereabouts. As far as your insurance goes, I had to put my kids on medicaid because my ex won't keep or hold a job whenever he finally gets one so I don't know what to advise about that besides asking a lawyer, they may be able to provide you where to go. Hope this helps

You are probably stuck getting the other insurance...

sorry to say.

If you haven't seen your daughter, why don't you?
