I don't really think you can go with "classy and unique" it's either one or the other. Classy basically means it has been done before, unique means it has not.
Unique colors would be like hot pink and lime green
Classy colors would be deep red and sage green
I used sage green, silver and red in my wedding, it was beautiful. I think browns and greens are being used a lot this year from the weddings I have seen. However they are gorgeous colors.
Some other colors might be silver and teal, pink and blue, green and silver, red and green..

Teal and brown are very very common. It's so close to Tiffany blue and brown. And I know that I can't think of Teal without thinking of The Wedding Planner.
Unfortunately that is the problem with "unique" and weddings. There is nothing you can do that has not been done before. When is she getting married? What do her bridesmaids look like? Does she have a favorite (or hated) color? How bout the groom?
Colors does not have to be, and should not be, one of the first things you decide. What month you are getting married helps determine the flowers you will be using (if you are on a budget). Some flowers only come in a few colors. Not all flowers are gerber daisies, in every shade imaginable.
Summer weddings tend to use brighter colors. Fall weddings tend to use fall colors--golds, rusts, browns, oranges--the colors in nature. Fall also leans towards metallics. Spring tends to lend itself to pastels. Now of course it doesn't have to.
Also you should consider your bridesmaids. If your bridesmaids all would look horrible in yellow, most brides would not want to pick yellow as a color. Do your bridesmaids look better in bright, clear shades? Are many of your bridesmaids heavy and would prefer dark colors like marine blue, eggplant purple, or black?
Do you prefer complimentary colors or colors in the same palette? Many people would pair green with a different color--purple or pink. If you said hot pink, they'd want a cool color to calm it down. However a new trend is to use same palette. It's more monochromatic, but still very elegant. Consider 2 shades of green.
Most brides go with their favorite color. A friend of mine went to UNC-CH and wanted to use Carolina Blue as her color. My groom went to its rival and would have hated anything being close to Carolina Blue in our wedding. Usually you don't want to exactly copy someone's colors--so if she has any bridesmaids or family who has gotten married recently, she'd avoid those. I'd leave it to the bride. After all, its her day

Teal and brown sounds good as long as it's not too much of both together. Like brown major and teal the accessories.

My wedding colors were Teal, white and silver and I thought they were classy. I would say that any kind of light blue or lavendar are classy and unique.

If you're going for elegant, then I'd definately decide on the pink and black. It's very chic and classic, and there are lots of things in those colors which should really help with planning. Bright green and pink sounds way to Easter-ish for me. If you like the aqua, then I'd put it with black. If you get too many bright colors going it's going to look like a carnaval. Not the look I think you're going for! Pairing either color up with black makes it more elegant and tones down the brightness factor a bit. It also give you a solid base to build on.

Depending on the time of year, teal and brown, pink and brown, coral and brown(all spring or summer), black and white(winter), brown and orange(autumn). Crisp white and baby blue for winter or spring depending on how it's done.
