That was a great question … well, it wasn’t so great actually and it wasn’t really a question BUT it sure did stir up the flies.
Up to 80 comments so far – and most of them fundies.
The pot and kettle IRONY was fair leaping from the screen.
So many of them asking you not to make assertions without proof.
AND apparently they don’t approve of YOU proselytising. Wow.
THEN there were the various ways so many were sure you were going to hell.
Pascal’s Wager got a mention a few times.
Of course there were the standard accusations/assertions that ‘believing in atheism’ took faith and was the same as a religion.
THERE were the outright ‘no atheists in foxholes’ lies of course …
“There is something that I notice about those who claim there is no God or He does not exist and I have personally witnessed this.
As soon as they receive word or find out that their child has been seriously hurt, as soon as the Dr. tells them they have cancer, when they lose their job, when their house burns down, if their parent dies suddenly, when everything that they trusted in and put all their efforts and finances in is at stake, the first thing that comes out of the mouths of these unbelievers is
Oh MY God!
God help me!
Oh God what am I going to do!
Oh God!”
AND, what’s it like having so many people offering to pray for you?
Have you come to believe in ‘god’ yet? No?
Guess he doesn’t exist then. LOLz
Ma-a-ate, I come here for the comedy – and you sure attracted some weirdly wired specimens with quite a range of madness and delusion.
They came from everywhere – almost every gap produced a fundie.
Thank YOU!

Is this a question, or a statement?
What you say is your belief, just as we "religious folk" believe in a higher power.
There is NO definitive proof that God does or does not exist. Which is the whole point (at least for Christians). FAITH or trusting that he does exist and works in ways our finite consciousnesses could never hope to fathom is the FOUNDATION of Christianity.
If you ask a scientist and he tells you that God cannot exist, he's blowing chunks from his butt. There's no way he can know because there's no way to do a scientific study on God's existence. That's the whole point, though. God is SUPERnatural; he does not conform to the boundaries of our universe since he (for my intent and purpose) created everything. Thus, scientists can never definitively prove God's existence either way; he is beyond mortal reach.
People like you accuse us of imposing our religion, our faith on you. How are you any different by going around and declaring your faith in the non-existence of God?

What shall I do now? I'll become an atheist, justify all my actions that i "somehow" sense are immoral but don't want to feel guilty for, I'll run my own life, be my own boss, accomplish the American dream, reach the deepest depths of philosophy, and when it's all said and done, have nothing. I think I'd rather go with Pascal on this one and say "the heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of...it is the heart which experiences God, and not the reason." In your heart you say there is no God, and quite frankly, that is foolish.

I'm terribly sorry there is people like you out there that think they can decide everything for other people and that you have the right to say god does exist or not. Sorry, to break it to you, but that is just your opinion. And now, I shall score two points.

I'll tell you- I, like you, do not believe in the one true omnipotent all seeing God. I don't know what he would do all day. I don't think the bible explains why he allows Horrible killing of his children. The explainations I read seem more like man trying to explain things than a supreme being.
Having said all that, what if we're wrong? If they are wrong, they wasted a lifetime praising a placebo. If we are wrong, Hei Ho Hei ho, it's off to hell we go!
Of course, with all of the hypocrit sleeve worshippers out there, we are all probably going to Hades on the same bus.
Bottom line- I TRY (And sometimes it's painfully difficult) to maintain an open mind about all religion. I definitely respect the true believers like Full Gospel Shirley and a few others. Some, though, are just carpet baggers on the God train to belong somewhere. It's frustrating. Let's try to tolerate everyone just to see what happens!

And I suppose you have some proof of your claim?
Of course you don't. You just THINK you know everything. How sad to be you. You are so ignorant, that you actually believe you can know anything as a certainty.
The universe is much more than you can access with your limited senses.
You can't even prove beyond a doubt that YOU exist and you expect others to believe you know for a fact there is no God.
Sad indeed.

The fact is that if our God does not exist, there is really no downside to our faith. On the other hand if are mistaken in your assertion that God does not exist, there will be Hell to pay (quite literally) for your disbelief.
Besides that, it takes far more faith to believe that God does not exist than to believe that he does. There is absolutely no explanation for the perfection of the universe around us and the delicate balance required to keep it from imploding/exploding both on a macro and a micro level.

Why do you care? If the mere fact that other believe in something that you do not care for makes you uneasy, don't you think you are the one who has the problem? What shall you do? What if the believer is a Buddhist and their God is in themselves? How can they not exist? I think you are not smart enough to offer sympathy or empathy to others for any reason or shortcoming.
