Okay, this is my first time cooking a turkey as I have stated in my past questions. I have a turkey breast, its 8.31 pounds. I'm cooking it tomorrow, and I've read that when you have a turkey you must remove the giblets which i think are the hearts and liver n stuff. but i dont have a turkey, only the turkey breast. do I have to remove anything? and If I do, how?

Generally, turkey breasts only do not come with giblets. If they do, they are enclosed in a little bag, and you can do with them as you wish. (They make good gravy).

If you just purchased the breast, 9 times out of 10 you won't have giblets. Giblets are used strictly for the gravy so if you don't like giblet gravy, throw them away.

What I do is thaw the meat and soak the breast in brine for about 4 hours. When I'm ready to cook the meat, I rub the turkey down with oil or butter, cover it with foil and cook it 30 minutes per pound.

You can purchase boxed dressing, make sure you use a bullion cube in the water and you can also purchase canned gravy and cranberry sauce.

The reason you need to remove them from a whole turkey is that they are inside in a paper bag. If you buy just the breast it is open on the side away from the breast bone and there is no set of giblets sold with it.

If you have just the breast, then there is nothing to remove. The giblets only come with an entire turkey.

There are no giblets if you only bought a turkey breast. They usually package them with a whole turkey and they are usually packaged in a small white papery bag placed inside the body cavity of the turkey itself.

Good luck

If you only have a breast and not the whole turkey then there shouldn't be any giblets in there. I've only seen giblets in whole turkeys that you buy for Thanksgiving.

The store will not provide you with giblets when you buy a breast only. The giblets are only packaged in a whole turkey.
For the breast, there will be nothing to remove.
Wash gently, pat dry, butter it well, salt and pepper, and roast in oven, basting several times, until 180º.
Delish!
