... it becomes the Word of God when it moves us to serve others. Otherwise, it is merely printing on paper.

Its interesting that only one person has addressed my core concept, which is "service." Everyone else is defending their position. Perhaps I should re-phrase by asking:
"What good IS the Bible if it does not move you to service?"

I agree...SERVE being the operative word here. Not condemn, judge, or belittle, but serve.

Disagree.
The Fellowship Of the Ring is just a book? It becomes viable, true words when it moves us to serve others. Otherwise it is merely printing on paper.

No I do not agree with you.The Bible is the word of God in its entirety. It was written as the Spirit of God moved Holy men to write as He directed. How long and how dilligently have you ever studied the Bible? I have for more than 60 years.

True the Bible is a book. but it is definitely The Word Of God. no other book was written during a period of 1,600 years and still has internal harmony. look at the prophecies about Jesus. they are in Genesis,Psalms,Isaiah and other books of the bible. but they were ALL fulfilled in Jesus. Only the Word of God could arrange that.

I agree that the bible is just a book. And not a particularly good one at that. It's not the "word of god" under any circumstances as there is no god.

I agree that would be how it applies to an individual...It is the inspired word of God, given to man as a guide to live by, to help direct our paths, inspire us to try to be enlightened to higher things, to comfort us in times of trouble and pain, to strengthen us for service to others, and to give thanks......Actually it is always the inspired word whether we apply it or not....it factually remains the same, it is us that changes by its use or stay stagnate in our fallen state.

God didn't write it... man did.
It IS merely printing on paper.
