I would like to give a thank you note to my boss for granting me the raise I asked for. Do you know any good website with exemples or maybe you've done that yourself before?
Thanks
(would a thank you email be appropriate?)

Thanking someone for doing/giving something is ALWAYS appropriate. It lets them know that you received it or that you appreciate it depending on the situation at hand.

Your thank you note doesn't have to be fancy or eloquent, but it should be handwritten. Buy a thank you card at the corner store if you can't think of anything to write yourself. You don't need to mention the actual raise if it makes you feel uncomfortable.

It is ALWAYS appropriate to thank someone! ALWAYS!

A thank you note is not needed. As a matter of fact, giving a thank you note indicates that someone did you a favor and that you didn't necessarily deserve it. The best thank you to the company would be continuing to do your job well and helping the morale around your office.

I agree. You do not need to thank your boss for granting the raise you asked for. Obviously, you deserved it or it wouldn't have happened. All you have to do is work hard and prove you're worth the raise (which will put you in higher regard the next time you ask for one). That will be thanks enough.

I don't think that a thank you note is appropriate. Raises are based (or should be) on merit and you do not thank your boss for your hard work.

Just continue to show you deserve it by doing the type of work that got you the raise. No need to stay late, just keep improving yourself over time for your next raise.

A thank you note is a great idea. It is ALWAYS smart to stay on your bosses good side. Plus it may make raises easier to come by in the future. I have sent thank you notes for interviews but never for raises so I'm not sure where to go for this.

I agree with everyone else. I'm sure that you thanked him or her when you received the raise and that is enough. Just make sure that you keep up the good work that warranted the raise in the first place and that is thanks enough. Congrats on the raise!!
