No. It is ridiculous to surmise that a poor, innocent child who is ill or otherwise unhealthy is so because of something they have done in a previous life and then this is their punishment.

Basically..."do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is what I believe, although it's not a cosmic force that makes bad things happen to you if you do bad things, or good things if you do good things, it's still the same thing. If you treat someone bad, they'll treat you bad.

yes, but it doesn't have to be anything supernatural. a christian saying that is very similar is
"you reap what you sow"
i realize that how i treat people impacts how people treat me etc.
for example how i raised my kids might turn out to be good luck for me later when i get sick and need them to take care of me.

also you must consider the impact of what one does on oneself, the conscience lets say. if you know you are not doing the right thing, it impacts you.
