Make her a coupon book she can use to redeem chores from you. Something like "good for scrubbing the tub once" or "good for taking out the garbage on trash night" or "good for one free hug". Mom's like that kind of thing.

I would write her a letter telling all the things she does that you appreciate. Be specific.
Clean or organize something that's on her job list, that she doesn't like or she hasn't gotten to. Like clean the bathroom or change the beds or something she will appreciate.
Make her alittle candlelight dinner for the two of you, turn off the tv, play some music she likes, and cook something she likes that you have. Even if its scrambled eggs and toast or sandwiches, make it pretty and special. Play the "what will I do with the money if I win the lottery" game and talk about the future. Sing her happy birthday and give her a big hug.
Tell her happy birthday from me, and tell her it will get better.

Get some paper and make her a coupon book. She will love it. Put things like chores you will do for her on them. "Good for one time washing dishes." "Vacuum the living room" If you can do something she really likes that you don't really like to do, like a foot massage or a facial, put in a coupon to do that. (The facial doesn't have to cost, mix up and egg yolk and a teaspoon of cooking oil and gently rub it into her face and let dry 10 minutes. It will make her skin feel great.) If you make a book with 5 or 10 coupons in it she will love it. Make sure one of them is "A hug in front of people" , we Mom's love that.

well, if she is gone for the day, clean the house, if you can cook something, anything, then cook it for supper, even if its only hot dogs and KD, the point is that you are doing something nice for her and she will appreciate the little things more than money spent on a gift. Make her a birthday card, and tell her how special she is in it, your words will mean more than someone elses (halmark).

Make her a very sweet, sentimental birthday card telling her what she has meant to you. Then maybe go to the zoo, a park or just hang out together doing what ever she wants to do. Just being with you will mean alot to her.

Make her a card, write a poem in it. Might sound cheesy but us mothers love that stuff.
It shows you still love us and your not too grown to write us mushy stuff.
Do something great for her. Massage her feet, comb her hair, cook for her. Just say you love her. It all counts
Let her know how much she means to you

Mother is a divinely gift given to everyone by God and is even considered as equal to God. So, what else can one give to God except himself. Likewise, fall at the feet of your Mother and tell her that you would improve yourself and keep her happy throughout her remaining part of life. A tiny drop of tear shed after true feeling will have no equal to any rich gift.

give her coupons for things you will do around the house and she can give them to you whenever she wants you to do something. Example clean the kitchen including sweeping, mopping, cleaning the oven, countertops, fridge. Clean the bathroom. Do dishes. dust. cook dinner, etc.
