your situation sounds more like mine...
don't worry about the copolscopy (i always forget how to spell it)...I have had two...you do NOT have to stop eating the day before...I think the person above me is talking about something else, some other procedure...
This is my experience:
I go into the gyno and go into the room...they ask me to undress and change into the little robe thing...then the doctor comes in and I sit in the chair/bed and put my feet up in the stirrups...the doctor then looks inside you with a microscope...then (if needed) they take a small snip of tissue from inside you...
If they have to do the snip, this is what it is like:
it literally takes less than 5 seconds and it feels just like when you have your period and you have cramps...then they just apply something to where they made the snip to help you heal...they give you a pad to wear because you might have a little bleeding...then the doc leaves, you get dressed, and you leave...
I was scared to death before I had my first one...it's like the first time you have a pap smear, you freak out because you don't know what it is like...and then I had to go back for my next coloscopy and I remembered that I had really over-reacted the first time and I was much more calm because I remembered the procedure...
The appointment is very quick - like 15-20 minutes if not less...
If you have any other questions, please fell free to e-mail me through my profile page...I'd be happy to answer any other questions...
-----------
one more thing I want to add is that before the appointment, do something to keep your anxiety down...some kind of activity...and don't show up too early for the actual appointment because you will just cause your self to have to sit in the waiting room and that also leads to anxiety if you have to sit there for a long time and worry...it will be fine...as soon as it is over, you will know that it is not something you need to stress over...you just need to do it and believe me, you will see it is not so bad...

It's not painful at all. The prepping the day before is uncomfortable though. Here's how it works:
You can't eat anything starting midnight two days before the procedure. So let's say you're procedure is Monday. You have to stop eating midnight on saturday (or sunday morning however you see it)
You can eat nothing but jello (not red kind though) the day before. And you can drink water.
You start drinking this Electrolyte solution at some point in the late afternoon. That will make you start going to the bathroom. You will probably experience some diarrhea which is normal and expected since you have not eaten anything solid.
The constant going to the bathroom will last about 6 to 8 hours.
When you hvae the procedure the next day, they will give you a small amount of anesthesia to knock you out. There shouldn't be many side effects from it since it is only a small dose of anesthesia.
The procedure itself takes about 15 minutes and really is not painful afterwards (or during because you are knocked out).
So don't worry about it so much, because the procedure is over like that. The prep is what the annoyance is.

Yes they do. But its better safe than sorry. I had a colposcopy, cone biopsy, and LEEP done. All were painful. But they told me I had cervical cancer and if I hadn't gotten those procedures done as painful as they were, I would have been dead in less than 3 years.
P.S.
I was awake for all the procedures. They were all done in office. They do give you a shot to numb you up but it was after the procedure that I felt the most discomfort.

Reporting of cervical cytology results is standardized. Further evaluation is indicated if atypical or cancerous cells are found, particularly in women at risk. If there is no obvious cancer, colposcopy (examination of the vagina and cervix with a magnifying lens) can be used to identify areas that require biopsy. Colposcopy-directed biopsy is usually diagnostic. If not, cone biopsy (conization) is required; a cone of tissue is removed using a loop electrical excision procedure (LEEP), laser, or cold knife.
Please see the web pages for more details on Colposcopy and LEEP.

I've had both.......I wouldn't say they hurt but they are both uncomfortable. You get a shot for the colonoscopy, then you can't feel much and for the biopsy you will also get a shot to deaden the area. You may need stitches afterward just depending on the size. Hope this answer's your question. I know your nervous but you'll be just fine. Take someone with you for support. Best of luck to you!

Probably a pimple, leave it alone and it will heal itself. If you had crabs...they would be little bugs all over your nether-regions. No worries
