It would give your exhaust fumes that great french-fried aroma.

It is also salvaging a free fuel from something that would be entering the waste stream otherwise

Better than what? It's the same as regular diesel, but it can only be made in very limited quantities. and now that we have the stupid ethanol mandate for gasoline, getting the raw material from corn is going to be harder and harder and more expensive. Home brewed bio diesel can cost you about $1 a gallon -- if you can find a source for the veggie oil.

in terms of "bang for your buck" -- there is no comparison between diesel and gasoline, gasoline is more bang for your buck.
