"get paid lots of money" depends entirely upon what you consider to be a lot of money. Median for veterinarians is $66,590 with a range of $39K - 118K

The upper range is "lots of money" but that lower range is, while not bad, not "lots of money".

Veterinarian in private practice appears to meet your specifications though. If you're good at it, you'll make more than if you aren't - it becomes up to you and how good you are.
