i would try jello, toast, crackers, popsicles. you want to try something especially if you are taking pain medication. that could also be what's causing the nausea.

Stay on soft foods for a few days after the removal of the appendix. Jello, custards, soups bread, etc.

Talk to your doctor.
I had my appendix out on a Saturday morning and ate Hospital food on Saturday and Sunday and walked out of the hospital on Sunday. I wasn't going out on a wheel chair and drove myself home. Back to work on Tuesday.
But, if you are having trouble talk to a doctor.

One answer that I give in heath related matters is do what your doctor is telling you to do. Your doctor may need to modify your diet depending on your condition, so I would start there.
