There are alot of people asking if it works for newly formed stretch marks, but I only have old ones. I know that the only thing that will make them disappear completely is surgery, but will Mederma (or anything else) make several years old stretch markes less noticable?

They range from very small to MASSIVE.

I wish I could say they were from pregnancy, but they are results of puberty coinciding with the death of a close family member--alot of depression and weight gain at a young age. (That was 9 years ago.)

Cocoa butter is supposed to work wonders.

Food, and lotions with vitamin E and maybe A are always good for scars.

Exercise helps. It depends on where the stretch marks are. If they are on your legs then run, jog, walk, any kind of leg movement daily. Eat healthy too, losing weight or gaining too much weight can cause them.

Apply cocoa butter cream on affected stretch mark areas in the morning, after showers, and at night. You'll be gaping at the results within' a few months!

Rub on liquid vitamin E.

Go to Peas and a Pod and ask them for their strech mark cream.

You can use cocoa butter or rub coffee grounds on the area and eventually they will fade!

Remove Stretch Marks

I don't think it does. They are designed to make scars softer and smoother, thus making them less noticeable. But I don't think there is much you can do for something that has been formed for nine years. I have stretch marks too, some from growing so fast during puberty, and some from my first pregnancy five months ago. All I can tell you is that they will become less noticeable over time. They fade into a more normal skin color. They are only red and purplish when they are new. I wouldn't go spending all that money on creams that claim to make them disappear. They just wont. Sorry, I know how it feels. Would it help if I told you almost every person has them??

No product can make scars disappear completely. But Mederma can help them appear softer, smoother and less noticeable. Merderma works best on newly formed stretch marks.

According to what I have heard about mederma from my doctor, it really works mostly for new stretch marks. It is very hard to get rid of old stretchmarks, once they are no longer red. Try using vitamin e oil, that helps to lighten them.

Unfortunately, once a stretch mark is formed, there isn't really anything that can be done to make them disappear, aside from plastic surgery.

Mederma works more for pigmented scars, whereas, stretch marks are white scars...form stretching skin, unlike skin trauma from a wound that forms increased pigment.

Good luck.
