movie file is of about 5 ~ 6 mb, and 10 minutes of duration. it shows in properties about 5 frames /seconds.
when i play that with windows media players, that tries to download codecs..but couldnt.
how can i know..what codec can play that

Install the DivX codec: http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/download/

If that doesn't work, try this codec pack: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

If neither of them work, The file is probably corrupt.

The video file probably requires a specific codec that windows media player cannot found. You can you a tool like Gspot ( www.headbands.com/gspot/) to know which codec have been used to create this file.

GSpot is a free utility which identifies the codec required to play an AVI file and supplies other information as well.

Some times AVI movie need DIVX codec, you can down load a full pack from the link. I am giving a link where you can find further items too.

After installing Codec Pack All-In-1 6.0.3.0 it is suggested to re-start computer. Then please play the avi movie. If you still face problem send me mail:
