For 11yrs i've been working in the early childhood field, and to be honest the job situation hasn't been so good. I always loved to write and i've been told i can apply to a magizine i could be an advice columist, i've written for Helium.com before. But to my understanding i thought you needed to have a degree for that? But then i learned about being a free lance writter and i was wondering if i can start a career as a free lancer writter?
As you can see i have more than one question and i was wondering if someone can help me?

You need to seriously consider your ability to write, starting with the basics. While casually reading your question, I found several basic errors including spelling errors.

For instance, it's spelled "writing" and 'writer". One T, not two.

But maybe you do better when you're paying attention.

If you're sure you are okay on the basics, and you feel you have things to say, you don't need a degree. You need to write.

Pick up a new copy of "Writers Digest" at your local bookstore. It will tell you about all the different markets that you can sell to.

Find a few areas of interest and look for magazines that accept freelance material. Read a few sample issues, then write articles you feel would fit their magazine. Follow their rules for submitting.

Viola! You're a writer.

No degree needed. You just need to have something interesting to say, be able to say it, and find a market for it.

In order to be a writer, you just have to write. Do up some good stuff then send it to different magazines or periodicals for consideration, and possible publication. If it gets published, you can add it to your resume and you will grow as a writer with publication of your work. As you become more well-known people will be more eager to publish your work and so on ... but the first step is to WRITE... if you are freelance you sell your stories to whoever wants to pay, so make up a lot of material, the more diverse the better. Good luck.

Study grammar and spelling, take a creative writing course, and start publishing online at freelance sites. There are many blogs looking for GOOD writers, and there are thousands of sites that publish free articles culled from places that offer them at no charge.

Get a few good reviews and submit to magazines.

I don't know about magazines, but if you wanted to write an actual book, like I have, I would suggest Lulu.com....(a self-publishing website) You can make your own name up and actually publish things yourself...for free, or if you want like, a bar code and stuff you have to pay....you can sell it and get royalties for it, etc. that's what I do.
But if you just want to like, write articles and be a reporter....idk what to tell you.

Well, for openers, you need to learn how to use punctuations and you need to learn how to make paragraphs... If your question is any example of your writing skills... you may want to hang onto the day job for a while longer
