In general:

If you are getting 20 minutes interview you are doing good, if you are asked to come back then you are doing batter, if you get the job you are doing great.

I have found jobs without any interview. Telegram said report to duty on -----, trial bases, will provide info when you come at 8:00 a.m. at employement office, bring credentials for our varification.

Then I have travel 1000 mile at the organisation's expence first class and had 3 days of Interviews and test, scored high but there were (final interview, Initial was day long in my city, 2 groups of 200 people each in my city, interviews were held in major cities in India). 60 candidates went to Baglore, for 1 job, there were many ties, boss's relative was tied running neck and neck with 3 others including I.

You can guess who got the job. I also think every thing being equal, finaly they picked the person that was most known to the people who were in the position to select, there was no doubt, he had more knowledge of the workings of the organisation and about the people that would be above him or under him.

It was a great lession.

I recieved the above telegram at the hotel (guest house) on next morning, after the interview.
