MP3 player and good books

If you've made the decision to do the journey, then view it positively, rather than an endurance test! I have a long train commute, and it enables me to read lots! It's time when there's really nothing else you can do, so make the most of it and get into a good book. Sure, I grumble about my journey, but the good thing is that it gives me valuable reading time, which I don't have at home, when I have loads of other things that need my attention.

Get an MP3 player but please do the rest of us a favour and buy some decent headphones...

There's nothing that makes you want to commit a random act of train rage violence more than trying to read a book but instead listening to the tinny bass of Green Day from some hoodie wearing plonker with noise leakage emanating from his £2.99 headphones and lack of volume control.

Other than that... good luck with commuting ;-)

Personally I try to sleep through my commutes if I'm not getting poked and elbowed by the idiot in the next seat who doesn't know how to change pages on his/her paper without throwing their arms wide apart.
I also agree with the others an mp3 player but please keep the volume turned down.
Oh and if you have a mobile that stores music in mp3 format please please please buy some headphones I for one do not want to hear your choice of music blasting out of a crap speaker on your phone.
Thanks and good luck with the commute
