The expenses of having pictures taken of you is a deductible expense for a model. Camera equipment is not an ordinary and necessary expense for a model. It would be an expense for the photographer taking your picture.

So no, you cannot deduct your camera, even if you have someone take your picture with it. The cost of printing and developing those pictures would be deductible however.

Not likely. Models don't take their own pictures, they have professional photographers do that for them. The cost of those photos is a legitimate tax deduction -- and probably a lot more than any camera would be.

If that is all that you us the camera for and you had proof of that you likely could use the cost of the camera as a deduction. If you were making a profit the chances are even greater.

If you're really earning a living as a self-employed model, probably. If you just wanna be a model, probably not.
