Would it be better to pray alone at home, or wherever you are at the time you need to pray? Wouldn't you be clearer and more focused alone, and less open to other people trying to direct your prayers where they want them to go?

"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." (Matthew 6:5-6)

Pray wherever and whenever the mood takes you, so long as you pray through Christ then the place really does not matter. I pray quietly at home, quickly in the car or when I'm busy but need to talk to God and at my Christian worship group with others I pray frequently throughout the day, asking God to direct me or forgive me or help others. God does not care where you are, so long as you talk to him.

There is only two ways I will pray, that is by myself or with somebody. There are different kinds of prayer, a prayer you would say in a church and personal prayer just between you and God.Each has it own purpose.

I pray regardless of where i'm at. I pray at restaurants before eating, I pray alone at home, I pray at church, etc. It doesn't really matter where you pray. You are still talking to the Lord, no matter where you are or what you are doing at the time.

God says pray constantly. So pray all the time - when alone, when with others, at the church, at the supermarket lol

You can pray silently within yourself, sitting in a place where you feel comfortable. God is there within you and by doing this, you can directly interact with Him too.
In fact, wherever you go, He is there, if only, you can feel His presence. In whatever you do or see, He is there for all to see. But, you should have an inclination to see Him and train yourself to be elevated to that stage.
Then, you do not have to go to any places of worship.

That really depends on what religion you're talking about.

"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room (or closet.) and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret..." (Matthew 6:5-6 RSV).

The Bible tells us to pray in secret and God who hears will reward openly. I can pray anytime, anywhere I choose. There is no place that I can go that God is not with me.

If you look at a fire that uses wood, if you take those pieces of wood out of the fire, they will tend to not burn. Put back into the fire they will all burn. The same for a church. Sure you can be part of God's church by yourself, but you won't have the same fire or flare for God. If you put yourself into church where other believers are, then you will tend to be able to focus more on God.

Just my humble opinion here.

I believe somewhere in the Bible it says to go into your closet to pray. I pray continually! I pray in my car while driving, too.
