I'd say you should run longer than 15 minutes. If you're looking for a cardio workout (and remember that cardio means increasing the heart rate and keeping it there for a period of time), 15 minutes won't do much. You should try for at least a half hour...longer if you can.
If you run for longer than a half hour, bring your heart rate down at some point during the run, then bring it back up. Do that a few times and you will end up burning more calories.
:-)
Good luck!

cardio workouts for 15 minutes? You need llike 45 minutes to an hour to get your heart rate up.
Run on Mondy, Wednesday, and Friday
Workout on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Rest on Sunday
Gym's have classes you can take
Here's an example from 24 Hour Fitness: http://24hourfit.schedulesource.com/public/gxschedule.aspx?club=00171
24 Hour Fitness is also starting running classes so you can get motivated with other runners.

That is about the minimum you can do and get any cardiovascular workout.
It would be better if you could do 20 to 30 minutes 3x each week.
The longer you run the more you are working the system and doing it 3 to 5 times is best.

Well,15 minutes as a stand alone exercise session isnt really much - you spend more time changing and showering than you do exercising! If all you want to do is 3 sessions running then you could consider doing 30 minutes and a longer session.
Right, so the actual 15 minutes exercise.
If you are in the gym you could try alternating thge following for thre short sessions:
- Run at a steady speed for 15 minutes
- Run at a speed a bit slower than your steady speed, every minute increase the hill by 1% till you get to 5 minutes, then reduce it by 1 every minute, when you get to 0% hill, begin increasing it again (tough session!)
- Run at a speed a bit slower than your steady speed, then every 45 seconds increase speed by 1 for as long as you can then start reducing it againevery 45 seconds untill you get to your steady speed again
- Run at a steady speed for 1 minute, then run 1 minute at 1mph faster, then go back to steady speed and repeat.
If you are running on the road you can do simular.
- Run at a steady speed for 15 minutes, to get to the end of your run wanting to stop
- Find a hill to run up, run up it and jog down, run a minute to recover then goback to the hill and repeat
- 'Fartlec' - sprint for a minute, then jog for a minute, sprint for a minute.....
- Get a friend to cycle next to you and keep up with them, they can go a little faster than your steady speed
Right, thats the short sessions.
Longer sessions I tihnk you should just go for it and run for as long as you have time, keep a consistant pace all the way (so no starting fast and getting tired and having to slow down), if you can find a hill en-route to go over thentry that. Try getting a variety of routes to runround too so you dont get bored
Finally, have fun with it
