I meet all of the requirements and have talked to my chain of command several times. I keep getting told to wait. I have been out of IET since July 18!

My first drill was in August. I have not only talked with the UA but our finance guy, the retention NCO, and my commander. I keep getting told to wait or that they aren't sure. Then last month they tell me there was "a problem with paperwork" and that it would be here early this month. ???

The Army's bonus policy is that you recieve payment within 90 days of reporting to your unit. If it was in your contract, the system should be automated; however, check with your unit admin and see if there is something else you need to do.

The above answers about budgets etc, are BS. Your bonus comes out of the FY budget from which you enlisted. The funds are designated and held until you complete training and payment has nothing to do with the current DoD budget.

Your bonus can take from 90-180 days to process. You will get it, it just takes some time. Stay on top of it , and if need be find the retention NCO and ask some questions.

YAK RIDER is right but you also should check your contract. If it isn't in writing, your out of luck. Also, unless they've changed it, your bonus is spread out throughout the course of your enlistment. That means that you're only getting a little bit at a time. Oh, and guess what? Taxes, taxes, taxes-you'll feel the bite. That unfortunately is the fine print they won't tell you about.

I hope everything works out.

The FY2008 budget for the Department of Defense has not been passed and signed into law yet. That's where the authorization for the bonus money is at. As soon as the Democrats can get their act together and pass the budget you'll get your money.

Yak Rider is correct. When I came in, the Democrats and Republicans were fighting over the budget and we didn't even get our first paycheck until the following month because of politics.

I would say budgeting. I applied for courses in Nov, and my TA hasn't been approved. I have heard there is a possibility that the funds have run dry. WTF?!?!?!?

You must prove that they own you a bonus.
