Just to clarify: this isn't baiting or anything. I'm just wondering because lately I've talked to a couple people with conflicting definitions.

I do consider myself open minded. To me it means seeing things from everyones' point of view.
We are all different, and in many cases view things differently.
As far as I am concerned, there isn't just black and white; there is also a grey area.
I don't believe that we should close our minds to everything that we don't agree with.
I believe that being open minded has allowed me to experience many wonderous things that I would not have seen if I had not accepted that some things can be different but still wonderful.

Open minded, is this a learned behavior or inherited from our parents? is it something we are born with? At what age are we allowed to have an open mind. I have learned at the age 40, I am very open minded, all things are possible. All people are different from different cultures, religions, etc. No one persons vision or expression of how they raise their children or live their lives is wrong. As long as no harm comes to children or animals, I don't care if you run around in your underroos all day for a week straight. I would still invite you to meet my family and friends.

With most things I am pretty open minded. Since you posted in religion I discuss religion.

I think everyone has the right to worship God in the manner they choose. (God, Buddha, Allah, etc.) They are all spiritual and we are all going for the same purpose just in a different way. I have no problem at all.

I don't even have a problem with those (misguided souls) who insist there is no such thing as a higher power or devil worshipers. They have "free will" given by God to believe that way. They will learn the truth when they die.

Yes I am open minded, And the meaning is to be able to look at something that might not have a scientific or exact explanation for it's purpose or being. But you can believe in it or understand that it's possible.
The fact that the Bible and God have niether been proven or disproven doesn't mean that they are not real.
Sometimes you have to realize that humans have a primal mind and have not yet learned or evolved enough to understand things.

Open mindedness means you will initially give equal weight to all points of view regarding an issue, matter or topic, then search out, given facts and the opinions of others, what the real answer is, or at least how you feel about it. This is a valuable trait for developing a system of personal values.

I am open minded. It means to me that I am willing to listen to what other people have to say and not jump to my own conclusion; or think that my way is the only way.

Open minded is knowing that all creatures were made to live on this earth and we need to be protecting all species and each other. Being open minded means that we listen to each other without judgement and hate. That goes for all races. Not just the ones who believe they have been so wronged!

Living is hard enough without being closed minded and selfish. That is why I refuse to judge people and try to heal hurting people. Paying it forward perhaps? Regardless, we are each other's keepers!

Yes
Even though I am extremely opinionated, I enjoy debating and I can argue both sides of most anything.
Open-minded to me means being willing to really listen and consider the points of view of other people. Occasionally, you might even change your own opinion if the argument is really good.
Open-minded does NOT mean that everyone's view is valid or correct. That is just relativism or post-modern epistemology, which is just so open minded that your brains fall out.

To be open minded is to be able to listen to and consider the merits of other peoples opinions, and realise that you are not always right, even if you think you are. Everyone has the right to their opinion. It does not mean you have to agree with them, they may not have the same beliefs that you do, but be willing listen and consider what they say, and then judge for yourself.

Yes, I'm an open minded person. I will reshape my beliefs if I learn that something I think or believe is in error. I abhor confrontations and prefer to talk it out and come to a mutual agreement with concessions being made on both sides.
