They didn't have the adversarial system back then, so legal representation wasn't all that significant. Back then the arbitrator lead the investigation and questioned suspects and witnesses, the opposing sides were not responsible for presenting their own cases. So there's really not much that legal representation could have accomplished.

Jesus is the perfect example of a plan gone bad. It wast till the early Romans and Jews figured that there was money to be made and power to be had if they controlled a populace that was uneducated.

He should have got OJ's legal team.But it was a fit up anyway,Jebus didn't do anything wrong other than break holy laws and claim to have fulfilled holy prophecies.

But Romans had a habit of killing Jewish lawyers first and asking questions later, so Jesus would only gain another name to die for him.
