Great Britain does not have a royal army, only a British Army, so none of the commonwealth nations have one either.

Before Canada became independent it's military forces were part of the British military, it's navy was part of the British Royal Navy, it's air force was part of the British Royal Air Force and it's army was part of the British Army,.

Royalty doesn't come cheap.First you have to have a Queen/King and then only you can have Royal this and Royal that.Britain gave them Royal navy /air force and Canada saved on the expenses.
