Cool, Compress and thus liquify the air then distill it.

That is the process used in industry.

It needs lots of energy.

Liquify air by cooling it. Then nitrogen is heavier than oxygen, so it sinks to the bottom, and can be drawn off, whilst oxygen floats and can be drawn off from the top.

Air is liquefied and as it warms the different gases will vent off in order of their boiling points.
